We were gone for 18 days for a Christmas trip. We’ve been home for 8 days. It’s been a bit crazy as we are preparing to go on our retirement trip. Randy had a bunch of retirement things to finish up. We had to go to the pharmacy to order 90 supplies of our medications. The pharmacy has really gone all out to help us get this accomplished. So thankful for them.
I’ve worked on gathering up things that we will need to take with us. We took an inventory of the trailer before we came home. It is at our sons’ house. We weren’t sure that we would be able to pull it over the passes to get it home. Turns out that we could have. But, better safe than sorry.
Christmas was really cold for us this year. And now, we are going to head south. First on the “to do” list is going to Disneyland. We’d hoped some friends could join us there, but that wont work this time. Maybe in the future. They are a fun couple to hang around with.
What we do after Disneyland is up in the air. Randy thinks that we won’t be gone for too long. Meanwhile, I’m thinking it would be a blast to go further south and then head east. I had hoped that we’d be able to go down to the keys. But it looks like that will have to be another trip.
I’ve been to Florida a number of times on my own. With our adoptive kids in our home, I needed times of rest and relaxation. I had gone to Disney World and only visited the Hollywood park. I just had no desire to go to the other parks alone. It is my hope that we can do this on this trip. I know that we’d also love to go back to Universal Studios. We went there on a “mad dash” trip down from Atlanta. We almost missed our plane to go home on that one.
I’m looking forward to seeing where we actually end up on this trip. One of our bucket list items is to visit all 50 states. We have already gone to Hawaii and if that isn’t in our budget to repeat, that is fine. I expect that a trip to Alaska to be interesting. I have a lot of things that I’d love to see in the next few years. Randy is the more practical one, so we will see. It seems like it took forever to get to retirement. And yet, in the last few months of waiting… IT WENT BY SO QUICKLY!!!
